Power Skills

You will learn what's important for people who work together every day within an organized structure to realize the organization’s goals and to be driven by values that align with their own. We will discuss the six values perspectives through which we perceive and express ourselves as leaders and followers within an organization. We will explore how these perspective change over time and across cultures.

Speaker: Dr. Reetha Raveendran

Dr. Reetha Raveendran has almost eighteen years of experience in higher education administration in the United States. Throughout her career she has been a champion of ethical organizational culture within the division of student affairs.  During her tenure she has provided leadership and oversight to areas such as residential life, Greek Life, student activities, leadership development, LGBTQIA and inclusion, civic engagement, athletics, multicultural affairs, career services, health, wellness, and counseling as well as enrollment management. 

Dr. Raveendran has spent most of her time working at private liberal arts institutions in the Midwest, Australia and Singapore. Currently, she is the Director of Student Affairs at the University of Michigan’s Taubman College of Architecture and Urban Planning where she is the chief student affairs officer and provides leadership and oversight to the Student Services Team.

Reetha has a doctorate in leadership studies from Bowling Green State University, MEd in Higher Education Administration and a BA in Linguistics from the University of Oklahoma.
